2	Loose Draw	Passive	Breaking shovel-mineable terrain opens a brief vibration current that draws nearby drops toward the player. Synergy: Underwake increases pull range. Controls: Passive — activates after excavation.
3	Hollow Ground	Passive	Excavation sends a pulse through the nearby terrain and points toward meaningful open space beneath or beside the dig site. Synergy: Underwake increases cavity sensing range. Controls: Passive — activated by excavation.
4	Buried Trace	Passive	The shovel searches for nearby sediment of a different family and emits directional feedback toward the closest transition. Synergy: Underwake expands the trace radius. Controls: Passive — activated by excavation.
5 First Stabilization	Resonant Clearing	Active	After the First Stabilization, the shovel can excavate a limited connected cluster of matching shovel-mineable ground using normal drops. Synergy: Underwake increases clearing capacity. Controls: Sneak + Right Click shovel-mineable ground.
6	Layer Follow	Passive	After Resonant Clearing, the remaining vibration signature searches for nearby separated terrain belonging to the same sediment family. Synergy: Earthweave can feed the result into memory. Controls: Passive — follows successful Resonant Clearing.
7	Digging Rhythm	Passive	Repeatedly digging in roughly the same direction builds a short rhythm and grants a temporary mining-speed bonus. Synergy: Underwake raises the maximum rhythm. Controls: Passive — maintain a consistent digging direction.
8	Sediment Memory	Memory	The latest shovel-mineable ground signature is stored persistently on the ItemStack. Synergy: Ground Echo searches for this signature. Earthkin broadens matching. Controls: Passive — excavate ground to replace the stored signature.
9	Ground Echo	Active	A controlled directional scan searches for the remembered ground signature without revealing exact coordinates. Synergy: Earthkin improves family matching and Underwake increases range. Controls: Sneak + Right Click while aiming into the air.
10 Deep Stabilization	Trenchline	Active	After the Deep Stabilization, the shovel excavates a short safe line of shovel-mineable blocks and stops at invalid terrain. Synergy: Underwake increases trench length and responsiveness. Controls: Sprint + Right Click shovel-mineable ground.
11	Collapse Sense	Passive	The shovel can sense lava, water, open cavities and falling sediment around the excavation site. Synergy: Subsurface Survey later combines these warnings with broader terrain information. Controls: Passive — activated during excavation.
12	Subsurface Survey	Passive	The shovel combines nearby sediment detection with fluid, cavity and collapse warnings in a wider scan. Synergy: Earthweave adds the memorized ground signature. Controls: Passive — activated while excavating.
13	Earthkin	Memory	The shovel learns the shared identity behind related sediment and soil signatures, making its stored memory useful across normalized variants instead of only one exact block ID. Synergy: Earthweave feeds that family into excavation surveys and Underwake reads hazards beyond a finished trench. Controls: Passive — refines Sediment Memory family matching.
14	Earthweave	Synergy	Successful clearing stores the current sediment family and lets later ground-echo and subsurface-survey effects work from a more coherent remembered layer instead of disconnected block readings. Synergy: Earthkin broadens the remembered family; Underwake turns a finished Trenchline into a hazard-reading pulse. Controls: Passive — integrates sediment memory with shovel abilities.
15 Harmonic Stabilization	Underwake	Synergy	When Trenchline successfully excavates a path, Underwake performs one bounded radius-8 subsurface reading from the endpoint. It briefly marks nearby cavities, fluids and unstable falling blocks without breaking or stabilizing them. Internal cooldown: 15 seconds. Synergy: Earthkin and Earthweave improve the shovel's broader terrain-reading identity while Underwake focuses on immediate underground hazards. Controls: Passive — follows a successful Trenchline.
